Dr Gaurav Dixit completed his MBBS and MD in General medicine from PGIMS Rohtak in 2008. After completing his senior residency in General medicine, he joined department of Clinical Hematology in AIIMS Delhi in 2011, and from there, he picked up interest in the study and treatment of blood disorders. In 2012, he joined CMC Vellore, which has one of the best hematology departments in the country, for his DM degree. He worked for three years this busy transplant centre, before finishing in 2015. He joined Artemis Hospital after working for 4 years each in Max hospital Shalimar Bagh and Action Cancer Hospital, Delhi. He was instrumental in setting up a bone marrow transplant program in both centres. As a part of oncoexpert, he wants to bring cancercare to patient’s doorstep, and provide them personalised care. Dr Gaurav has independently performed or has been a part of more than 500 bone marrow transplants to date.

Know More In 2020, he was awarded professional certificate in multiple myeloma by Mayo Clinic, U.S.A .He possesses great clinical acumen and scientific insight. He is well versed with latest developments in the field of hematology and always follows set international guidelines for treating his patients. Due to his exceptional understanding about hemato-oncology, he holds a special place in the field. His teaching skills have been an asset to the department, wherever he has served . His special interests are leukemia , myeloma, lymphoma and aplastic anemia. As a member of various organizations , India and abroad, Dr Gaurav is always willing to interact , learn and help.

Dr Gaurav is credited for performing first bone marrow transplant in Kenya. In his 2 year journey, he helped a local hospital in developing infrastructure, including rooms, blood bank, lab as well as train staff for this difficult procedure.
Kenya became only secondary country in east Africa doing BMT.
